Homemade pumpkin spice latte… the recipe!

The one that got the ball rolling was Starbucks’ pumpkin spice latte ☕🎃. Since its creation, it has been the talk of the town. It’s so popular that it has its own Instagram account!

Here’s a version of the famous syrup that you can make at home for a perfectly seasonal coffee. Our pumpkin spice syrup recipe is as good as your favourite coffee shop’s. Enjoy it in the garden, wrapped in your favourite woolen sweater.

Ingredients

  • 40 g sugar
  • 60 ml water
  • 10 g pumpkin purée (homemade or store-bought)
  • ¼ tsp. vanilla
  • ¼ tsp. cinnamon
  • A pinch of cardamom
  • ¼ tsp. ginger

How to prepare the syrup

  1. Combine all ingredients in a saucepan and heat for about five minutes to infuse.
  2. Remove from heat and strain once cooled.
  3. When making latte, add 1 tbsp. syrup to the milk.
  4. Store the syrup in the refrigerator. You can keep it for more than 5 to 7 days if it does not contain pumpkin purée*.

You can easily double the recipe to offer our syrup as a gift. Simply transfer it to a nicely decorated glass container!

*The pumpkin purée is optional. Many versions of the famous pumpkin spice syrup do not contain it.
