Here’s a version of the famous syrup that you can make at home for a perfectly seasonal coffee. Our pumpkin spice syrup recipe is as good as your favourite coffee shop’s. Enjoy it in the garden, wrapped in your favourite woolen sweater.
Ingredients
- 40 g sugar
- 60 ml water
- 10 g pumpkin purée (homemade or store-bought)
- ¼ tsp. vanilla
- ¼ tsp. cinnamon
- A pinch of cardamom
- ¼ tsp. ginger
How to prepare the syrup
- Combine all ingredients in a saucepan and heat for about five minutes to infuse.
- Remove from heat and strain once cooled.
- When making latte, add 1 tbsp. syrup to the milk.
- Store the syrup in the refrigerator. You can keep it for more than 5 to 7 days if it does not contain pumpkin purée*.
You can easily double the recipe to offer our syrup as a gift. Simply transfer it to a nicely decorated glass container!
*The pumpkin purée is optional. Many versions of the famous pumpkin spice syrup do not contain it.
